Cassis & the Calanques

Yesterday, my new French friend Mathilde was so kind as to take me and my friend Lindsay to the seaside town of Cassis for a walk along the Calanques. They’re basically the Mediterranean version of a fjord and apparently are the remains of ancient river valleys that then filled with seawater. The one we walked along, Port-Miou, is used as a marina. It was SUPER GORGEOUS – everything is very colorful, from the perfectly clear blue sky (about 60 degrees that day), the turquoise water, the white rock, the green trees, and the distant red hills.

Also, we can check this off of my bucket list now (though it wasn’t a boat tour, I’m still going to count it).

  1. Outstanding photos. It looks like a beuatiful and quiet day. Were there any people there or do you just shoot photos that don’t include any?
